In fact, the band started in July 1972, on a camping site in Alburgh (Vermont, USA) wich Christian Montmarquette, Normand Martin and Vivianne Mongeau met and started to ''jam'' together.

The 25 September 1972, Guy Paradis joined the band and at this moment the original formation of Caramel Mou was created. (Robert Leblanc (4) was a Session player and Director)

In August 1973 to the 7 April 1974, the band toured in Montreal and create their popularity when they made their residency of 8 months at L'Évêché.
They were recognized to make shows that were one of a kind.

The label Magic Mushroom Music were interested to finance their creativity and after 500 hours in the Studio Triangle, in June 1974, they made their only album.

The band's name came from a song of the album which people sticked with during the promotion.
They started to call the band '' Caramel Mou'' instead of ''Shoe Sine'' and it stayed that way.
