About This Title

As soon as we released this album we changed our name from Octavian to Chain Reaction. Trillium Records signed us first. Entirely different artwork for the album. As luck would have it, the label folded while we were on tour promoting its release. But the album never made it to the stores! When we got home we were back on the pavement shopping for a new record deal. 5 months later that turned out to be Attic Records.

This is the inside of Trillium Records album cover foldout. Notice that there is a major blooper here. One of the verses for "You've Got The Cure" was also erroneously added as a verse for "Baby, Let Me Go All Night". You want to know how this happened?? Read on...

On the Friday before we departed for our Western tour under the new name "Chain Reaction", the company who did the graphic arts for the album called us in for final approval of the layout and format of the album jacket. We had but 5 minutes to review their layout before it went into final print before the tour. I reviewed the lyrics quickly and observed that a verse was missing in "You've Got The Cure", so I said so. They retorted, "But Mr. Barbour, it can't be missing! We took extreme care in ensuring every detail was met. If we have to add a verse, we will have to totally redo the type setting for the entire layout and this will set us back a day". I said, " It's wrong. We gave you the lyrics for each tune. You figure it out."

As it turns out, they mistakenly placed the missing verse for "You've Got The Cure" into "Baby Let Me Go All Night". When I pointed out the error, they simply added it again into "Cure" but of course had to reformat the entire layout in order to to do so. I can only presume that they also billed Trillium Records for their mistake and the extra day's labour.

The error was only noticed by myself later on, after multi copies went into print. To this day, the world does not know, as this never went into release, despite all the time, effort and good intent that was behind it.

Chain Reaction - X-Rated Dream (Elevator cover) (1)

This is the back of the Trillium Records album jacket, which was never released, telling the 'after' story. It's kinda small here, but can you make out what was abandoned on the elevator floor?? One of the items was her gold waist belt. The other...
