No, the singer in this band is not named Leslie Spit. I used to think it was, but that's not the case. In fact, this trio was actually Laura Hubert (vocals), Pat Langner (guitars), Jack Nicholsen (acoustic guitar), along with pals Frank Randazzo (bass), Graeme Kirkland (Drums).
This band isn't nearly as obscure as most of the artists that we write about on this site, but since I found this "Limited Edition Album" LP of their debut "Don't Cry Too Hard", I figured it wouldn't hurt to add them on here (another great find at a local thrift store). I distinctly remember hearing their killer version of "Angel from Montgomery" and the groovy "UFO" on the radio a lot back in the early 1990s. They were truly one of those great up-and-coming bands of the decade. However, internal struggles and some legal issues got in the way.
Note: I think I am safe suggesting that this is the only band in history to be sued by a cookie company.
Laura Hubert is still singing, and is quite the fixture in Toronto. You can get up to date with her at http://www.laurahubert.com/. The other guys are also kicking around. Jack still sings and is also a successful actor, while Pat has apparently left the music scene altogether.
