In making a record album, one of the first things necessary is to find good material and good musicians. In some cases, there are those who travel many miles in search of the same. I am very grateful in having found both song writers and musicians right in my own home town of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. I chose these people, not just because they are my friends but, because of their exceptional talents as song writers and musicians.
My sincere thanks to Doris Lavoie with whom I traveled and sang with for many years and who wrote "LOOKING FOR THAT BLUEBIRD" "COUNTRY WALKIN", and "WAITIN FOR THE 648"; my friend from high school days, Lynda Wolfe who "BUTTERFLY", "STRAWBERRY SOAP" "TODAY I AM", and "BARNEY"; Allister McGillivary with whom I traveled many a mile and who wrote, "TIE ME DOWN; my life long friend, guitar and harmonica player, Dougie Gillis; my good buddy Brian Furlott who traveled half of Canada to play drums on this recording: and to those very talented people, my friends, "the Alcorns” for their background vocals and musicianship; Emmy (flute), John (acoustic and electric piano), Mark (bass and guitar). My special thanks to Carroll Macintyre and Paul Forbes of Formac Limited who made this record possible.
