About This Title

In the quirky annals of 1960s music, few tracks stand out like "Like a Dribblin' Fram," a tongue-in-cheek novelty hit by Toronto’s CHUM AM DJ Garry Ferrier and his Bob Dylan parody band, Race Marbles. Released in early 1965, this humor-laden spoof quickly captured the public's imagination, and was released just after his Christmas single Ringo-Deer single had climbed to an impressive #7 on the CHUM charts in late December 1964: https://citizenfreak.com/titles/327926-ferrier-garry-ringo-deer-b-w-just-my-luck. Its infectious mix of absurdity and satire earned it a spot on the cult-classic compilation Pebbles Vol. 3: The Acid Gallery, where it found a second life among collectors of offbeat 60s gems. The song’s reach extended far beyond Canada’s borders - it was pressed in Australia and even appeared on Tower Records in the United States, showcasing its universal appeal as a lighthearted jab at Dylan's trademark style. While the A-side delivered laughs, the B-side took a surprisingly serious turn with an anti-war anthem, revealing the band’s ability to balance humor with a dose of poignant social commentary. This one-off hit by Race Marbles remains a fascinating time capsule of the era, blending sharp wit, cultural parody, and a touch of activism into a uniquely memorable package.
