About This Title

Charlie Russell was a disc jockey from Woodstock, New Brunswick. He was born in South Nelson, Miramichi, New Brunswick. Charie formed a dance band "The Gators" and made his professional appearance in 1958 at the Miramichi Song Festival, playing alongside Alan Mills. Back in 1975, Charlie recorded this political country satire album on Stompin Tom’s label – Boot Records. The song "The Bricklin" went to # 17 on the National Charts and was featured on National TV and Radio news. The Bricklin's were Canada's contribution to automobile design. All of the Bricklin's were assembled in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Charlie’s had a great website but sadly it was taken offline.

Charlie was inducted into the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame in 1984 and the Canadian Country Music Association Country Radio DJ Hall of Fame in 2003.
